National Myopia Week 2022 was observed in India from Nov 14-20 through a week-long Myopia Awareness. This national campaign reached over 1 crore (10 million) people in India including parents, teachers and children.
Spread an awareness of myopia through leading platforms of National Media including mainlines and B2B media such as the Hindustan Times, TV9 Bharatvarsh and various others by engaging with paediatric ophthalmologists to educate kids and their parents about myopia. The National PR campaign aimed to encourage parents to go to doctor for their children’s eye checkup at least once a year so that they can recognize the risk of myopia and get required treatment options.
Used prominent regional news media in selected areas such as Vadodara, Indore, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Pune & Chandigarh in order to raise awareness among a bigger group of people. Regional media included Bizz Buzz, The Hans India from Hyderabad, Punyanagri, The Kovai Herald, Dainik Jagran, Vadprad and many more leading publications across India.
To reach the people on ground level and to connect with people through social media and spread awareness about myopia, the organisers initiated and collaborated with over 50 mother and kids influencers to create and post over 50 reels and 100+ stories which aimed to create myopia awareness. Live online interactions with paediatric eye doctors were also streamed on social media which attracted huge audiences. The influencer campaign reached out to over 19 lakh (1 million) people as per documented statistics and many people came forward to support the campaign.
